Could You Make a Lucritive Living Selling Your Poop?

( – Have your family and friends ever told you that you’re wasting time on the toilet? In reality, you could make as much as $180,000 per year by selling your poop if you have the kind of feces researchers are looking for. Yes, those with ideal poop can make $500 every time they sit down to do their business!

While only .1 percent of all people have what it takes for their poop to produce that kind of income, there are other programs that do pay out up to $1,500 monthly for the right kind of poo, and the health qualifications involved in that level of poop income is much lower.

Your Poop and Why Companies Want It

Did you know that your gut is full of microbes that kill off harmful bacteria that slide in on your food? These microbes help us stay healthy, and over the last decade, researchers have been making headway about how the microbiome in your gut can help you stay healthy.

Those without healthy microbiomes have it rough. People with Clostridium difficile (C. diff) typically experience the infection in a reoccurring context. It’s a bacteria that tends to reappear after antibiotics are through. But, Fecal Micriobiota Transplants (FMT) can help patients with C. diff, and it involves taking samples from healthy gut biomes and moving them to the patient in need.

FMT may also help people with other types of chronic illnesses, which may be tied to poor gut health. Research regarding this connection is popular and ongoing.

Who Will Buy Your Poop?

Per The Penny Hoarder, there are multiple programs in the United States willing to buy your poop. They are:

Human Microbes

Human Microbes pays $500 or more per stool stample. If you donate daily, you could make $180,000 — but the program’s standards for donors are strict. They require donors to be under 30 years of age, have a specific type of stool, and be in “exceptional physical and mental health.” However, if you’re under 18 and have a parent’s consent, you can donate your poo, too.

This program is open to anyone who has access to dry ice, anywhere in the world. You collect your samples yourself and send them in using dry ice to pack them.

GoodNature Program

The GoodNature Program is happy to pay you $25 to $75 per stool sample, and they’ll pay out up to $1,500 monthly. To participate, you have to be 18-50 years old, non-smoking, and a typical weight. You can’t have a past that includes drug or alcohol abuse or a gastrointestinal disease.

You also need to live near a collection facility for the program in Irving, CA, Tempe, AZ, or Cambridge, MA, and be able to drop a deposit at one of these locations at least thrice weekly. If you’re able to do the doo 3-7 times per week for an extended period of time and complete a health screening every 2-6 weeks, you can earn even more.

Poop with Purpose

You can get $50 per poop donation for up to $1,500 per month with Poop with Purpose if you live in the Boston area and can visit their facility. This works for participants aged 18-49 who can pass a health screening and donate thrice weekly.

Take Your Next Steps to Become a Poop Donor

Each of these popular programs has an online screening process to start. You’ll have to fill out an application and provide some personal info about your medical history and poop habits. If you pass the initial application, you’ll have health screenings, interviews, and samples.

The best part of it is that it’s easy: you’re getting paid to help scientists make important health advancements all while doing something your body needs to do anyway.
